Md Shimul Bhuia’s research projects span drug discovery, natural-product pharmacology, neuropharmacology, preclinical investigation, computational drug design, inflammation, gastrointestinal pharmacology, toxicology and related biomedical sciences.

A recurring feature of these projects is the integration of experimental and computational approaches to investigate biological activity, possible molecular mechanisms, pharmacokinetic behavior and therapeutic relevance.

His portfolio includes both individually developed and collaborative projects involving university students, emerging researchers and international collaborators. Several ongoing projects continue to be developed through study design, methodological planning, scientific interpretation and manuscript preparation.

03 • PROJECT PHILOSOPHY

Question-Driven Research

Selecting methods according to the scientific problem, rather than selecting a method first and searching for a problem.

Research Principle

Evidence should determine the conclusion.

His research projects emphasize methodological appropriateness, careful interpretation and conclusions proportional to the evidence generated. Experimental, computational and analytical methods are selected according to the research question. Positive, negative and non-significant findings can all contribute meaningful information when studies are appropriately designed, conducted and reported.

Research projects designed to generate evidence, develop researchers and contribute to biomedical knowledge.

The broader objective is not simply to produce individual publications, but to develop scientifically defensible work that can support further investigation, collaboration and researcher development.
